Dear Neighbor, Earlier today, the City and County of Los Angeles announced that beginning this Wednesday, January 15, a Disaster Recovery Center will open at the UCLA Research Park (formerly known as the Westside Pavilion). This center, which will be led by FEMA in partnership with city, county, and state agencies and service providers, will support Angelenos recovering from the recent wildfires. The center will operate daily from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, with free parking available onsite for those accessing services. This center will provide vital assistance to those impacted by the fires, including: Replacing lost vital records like birth certificates, driver’s licenses, and social security documentation Helping individuals and businesses apply for disaster relief loans Offering mental health counseling and other critical support services. This center is a crucial resource to help our community recover, and we are honored our district can support our neighbors who have lost so much. If you have any questions about the Disaster Recovery Center, you can contact unifiedla@lacity.org or call (213) 484-5604, or reach out to our office by calling 323-866-1828 or emailing Councilmember.Yaroslavsky@lacity.org. Thank you for your continued support for those in need. All my best, Katy Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky Council District 5 |
